General

The basics on how the Lounge works, what's included at each tier, travel, and gallery delivery.

  • What is the Portraits Lounge?

A portrait studio for your guests. We bring a portable studio — backdrop, professional lighting, photographer + assistant — and set it up at your event. For three hours, every guest who walks in gets directed by a real photographer and walks out with an editorial portrait. Digital, printed, or framed depending on the tier.

It runs alongside whatever else is happening at your event. Guests come over between courses, between sets, between speakers. Two minutes per portrait, no waiting line because the photographer is moving people through, and they leave with something they actually keep.

  • How is this different from a photo booth?

At a photo booth, the timer fires whether the guest looks good or not. At the Lounge, the photographer waits for the moment your guest looks like the best version of themselves. That's why your guests walk out with photos they'll actually keep, instead of strips that get left on the dinner table.

  • How long is the session?

Plan on 1-2 hours before guests arrive for setup, 3 hours of event coverage, and 1 hour after for breakdown.

Tier 1 (Digital) setup is typically 1 hour. Tier 2 (On-Site Prints) setup runs up to 2 hours — the on-site editing and print workstation has more variables, so we ask for the cushion.

  • Do you travel for mountain bookings?

Yes — we cover all of Colorado. Mountain bookings include a flat travel fee:

    • $250 for venues within 3 hours of Denver — Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, and similar (same-day round trip)
    • $600 for venues beyond 3 hours — Aspen and further (overnight required)

Wedding bookings include travel; the Lounge surfaces it separately because it’s a focused 3-hour event activation rather than a full-day wedding service.

Combo bookings and Tier 4 (Bespoke) — travel handled within the package quote.

  • Can we customize the look?

    Yes — at two levels.

Mode A (default): we bring our own clean backdrop and professional lighting — a minimal editorial frame that works at any venue.

Mode B (your set): if you already have a designed environment — a florist installation, a gala backdrop, a brand activation, your venue’s architecture — we roll the portable studio into that environment and shoot inside it. Same Tier 1-3 pricing.

For events where the set itself should be part of the portrait — galas, brand activations, milestone events — that lives at Tier 4 Bespoke, where we co-design and build a custom set with trusted Colorado partners. 3-month minimum lead time.

  • Are printed photos included?

Tier 2 (On-Site Prints) includes one printed portrait per guest, handed at the event. Dye-sub printer + on-site editor for live retouching.

Tier 3 (Framed Keepsakes) adds 4×6 or 5×7 framing on each printed portrait.

At Tier 1 (Digital), printing isn’t included by default — but a print add-on can be quoted on request.

  • How do guests access photos after the event?

Each guest gets a QR code on-site that links directly to their portraits in the post-event Pic-Time gallery — powered by our AI face recognition. The full gallery is delivered within 24 hours of the event close, so you can email it to guests while the night is still fresh in their memory.

  • What about guests who don’t want to be photographed?

Over two years of the Portraits Lounge, we are always accommodating to each guest and their requests. We spend time to get it right.

  • Lounge vs. event coverage — what’s the difference?

Event coverage tells the story of your event. The Lounge gives every guest a portrait of themselves. Different work, different output — and we can run both at the same event, with one of us covering the event and the other running the Lounge.

See combo packages for paired bookings.

  • Combo booking — is there a discount?

Yes — combo packages available. Inquire for pricing.

  • What if our event is bigger than ~150 guests?

Each Lounge serves up to ~150 guests per 3-hour activation. For larger events we scale two ways:

    • Parallel setups — a second studio running alongside the first, doubling throughput
    • Extended hours — adding a fourth or fifth hour to the booking

Both options are surfaced during the inquiry conversation; we’ll size the recommendation to your guest count and venue floor plan.

B2B & event planners

Planning a corporate event?

Brand-aligned activations for galas, conferences, sponsor footprints, and milestone events. Lead capture, real-time push, insurance, lead times — covered below.

  • Can prints carry our logo, event name, or sponsor branding?

Yes — included for B2B activations. Custom print branding (logo placement, event name, sponsor lockup) is part of the standard Tier 2 / Tier 3 deliverable when the booking is corporate or sponsored.

  • Can you capture lead data — email, phone, opt-in?

Yes. The QR-to-gallery flow uses AI face recognition and can be configured to capture email, name, and consent at the gallery handoff. Already enabled in the Tier 1-3 tech stack — no premium upcharge.

  • Can your team push real-time photos to our social team during the event?

Yes. Capture One tethered live preview means images land on a connected workstation in real time; selected hero shots can be pushed via QR code or shared folder during the event for your social team to publish live.

  • Do you provide engagement metrics?

Yes — at post-event delivery (not real-time). Engagement metrics arrive bundled with the 24-hour gallery: total portraits captured, guest-claim rate via QR, downloads, and gallery views.

  • What’s the lead time for Tier 4 (Bespoke)?

3-month minimum. Tier 4 includes set design with Colorado partners, fabrication, and pre-event production planning — all of which require a real production calendar.

See Bespoke for scope and process.

  • Are you insured?

Yes — $1M general liability coverage. Certificates of Insurance available on request for venue requirements.

  • Can the Lounge match our brand aesthetic?

Yes. At Tier 1-3 this is handled via Mode B — we roll the portable studio into your designed environment (your stage set, brand activation, sponsor footprint) at no upcharge. The portrait then carries your brand context naturally.

For a fully custom-built environment, see Tier 4 Bespoke — that’s where we co-design the set itself with set design partners.

  • How is the Lounge different from a roving event photographer?

A roving event photographer captures 15-30% of your guests in candid moments. A Lounge captures up to 150 guests per studio per 3 hours, scaling with parallel setups or extended hours for larger events. If every attendee matters individually — gala donors, employees at a milestone, a wedding’s full guest list — the Lounge is how you guarantee every person is photographed as the subject.

  • Where should the Lounge be placed at our event?

Center of the festivity, where guests are already congregating — not in a side room. Side-room placement reduces guest engagement regardless of product quality. We work with your planner during pre-production to land the right floorplan.
